I've discovered that web pages age quickly. Things move fast in the world of computer networking. It only takes a few seconds to look at a page, but it takes a little longer to write something worth reading.

I don't spend a lot of time updating these pages, so some of the stuff is pretty old. But you might still be interested.

My wife, Diane Patterson, has a journal that she keeps on her web site. There's always something new there. It's definitely worth checking out.

I do my programming and consulting under the name Bent Spoon Software, and there's the skeleton of a web site at www.bentspoon.com.

Here are a few interesting tidbits:

• A list of books I recommend. That was last updated March 1997.
• Some notes about television shows I watch, at least the ones I was watching in January 1997.
• A sampling of comics I recommend, from late 1996.
• A long monologue that I call 20 Years of Computer Software, which tells the story of how I learned about computers. This is from late 1996.
• A list called Macintosh Software I Created, in which I brag about some programs I wrote. Also from late 1996.
• I want to write about stuff I might have contributed to the computer industry, but I haven't done that yet.
• I also want to tell you about groups I've been privileged to work with, but I haven't done that either.
